Metropolis could be a 1927 German expressionist science-fiction drama film directed by Fritz Lang. Written by Theia von Harbou unitedly with Lang, it stars Gustav Fröhlich, Alfred the Great Abel, Rudolf Klein-Rogge and Brigitte Helm.
Erich Pommer created it within the Babelsberg Studios for Universum Film A.G. The silent film is thought to be a pioneering science-fiction picture show, being among the primary feature-length movies of that genre. motion-picture photography materialized over seventeen months in 1925–26 at a price of quite 5 million Reichsmarks.
